When cancer strikes young lives our client helps families limit the damage cancer causes beyond their health. Cancer doesn't discriminate. Today, 11 more children and young people will hear the devastating news that they have cancer. From diagnosis, our client's specialist care teams will step in, ready to help, support and guide. They will provide a specialist package of support tailored to each young cancer patient and family. They fight tirelessly for children and young people with cancer, often when they feel they can't. They do this individually, locally and nationally, so that patients can focus on the important things, like getting well. And if the worst happens, they will work with bereaved families to get them support, to help them cope with their emotional pain. Position: Senior Philanthropy Fundraiser (Maternity Cover) Location: London Job Type: Full Time, 12 months Temporary Contract Hours: 35 hours per week Salary: Circa £33,000 per annum Benefits: they offer a great reward package, which includes generous annual leave entitlement, pension scheme and season ticket loan. Closing Date: 15 March 2018 Interview Date: 23 March 2018 About the role: The purpose of the post is to deliver an agreed income target from key major charitable trusts and institutions and to work as part of a team to sustain and grow Philanthropy income in line with their Income and Engagement strategy. Responsibilities: - Develop and implement a strategy to maximise income from a portfolio of key warm and cold charitable trusts, giving grants between £25,000 and £100,000 - Establish, maintain and develop personalised relationships with key personnel within existing funding organisations - Research, approach and establish relationships with prospective funders with the view of achieving fruitful long-term relationships - Represent them externally to donors, potential donors and key contacts at meetings and events - Liaise and work with colleagues and key contacts to utilise the Charities connections to support the development of relationships with existing and prospective donors - Liaise with their line manager and colleagues in other departments in order to gather information pertinent to funding proposals and donor reporting - Research and develop major funding proposals and donor reports, individually tailored to each trust - Ensure prompt and accurate reporting to all current funders - Develop and maintain annual approach calendars, filing and database systems - Report on performance against agreed budgets and targets - Support the development of Strategic and Annual Plans for the Philanthropy Team - Maximise Gift Aid income and ensure full regulation compliance for designated area of work by identifying opportunity, responding to regulation changes or recommendations, implementing quality control and supporting and developing colleagues - Ensure that you treat information and data professionally About you: - This post requires experience rather than professional qualifications - Significant trust fundraising experience - A successful track record of working with and securing significant grants from major funding organisations - Experience of either statutory and / or lottery applications - Experience of major proposal development - Successful track record of achieving fundraising targets - Experience of researching funding prospects (with knowledge of source materials) - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to use MS Office - Preferably educated to degree level You may have experience of the following: Major Donor Fundraiser, Charity, Charities, Third Sector, Not For Profit, Senior Fundraiser, Donor Management, Business Development, Fundraising Manager, Individual Giving, Donor Relationship, Trust, Fundraising, Fundraiser, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
