Solutions Architect, Nationwide, £Commensurate with skills and experience

Grade: BL 13

Overview and Responsibilities:

Do you have experience of identifying solutions to meet with Business objectives? Do you have experience of defining requirements that utilise technology?

Menzies Distribution have exciting vacancies for Solutions Architects based nationwide with travel and overnight stays when required.

The Solutions Architect role will be responsible for the following;

    Technical requirements captureDetermining technical solutions to meet business objectivePreparation of technical specificationsCollaboration with Business Analysts and Subject Matter Experts to ensure solutions are technically fit for the business caseProvide recommended solutions for ITIL Service DesignProvide Architecture best practices, process and policies

    Proactively understand and challenge IT strategy in support of business objectivesCan negotiate effectively and resolve issuesMaintain ITIL Standards in alignment with the Service Management TeamCan lead and translate the vision and mission of Menzies Distribution
Key Skills


    Solid business and technical experience, including a track record of requirements gathering and technical specification preparationA highly capable IT professional, preferably in the B2B sector, with experience of change and transformationA genuine interest in the latest technologies and an appetite for research into new and emerging technologiesStrong oral, written and presentation skills essentialAbility to collaborate and partner with various teams and stakeholders (non-technical to technical)Thinker and planner – able to see potential issues and requirements ahead of time, plan and address themRelevant experience (minimum of 3 years+)Hold a full UK driving licenseBe flexible to travel

    Relevant working experience within Distribution or LogisticsAccreditation or demonstrable experience in other leading practices such as ITIL, COBIT, agile, CMMI and Prince 2Experience with ITIL-aligned Service DesignExperience with Agile methodologiesExperience with competitive tender processesExperience of managing and partnering with 3rd party suppliersRelevant degree or equivalent experience
