Position: Electrical Design Engineer
Hours of Work:
Monday – Thursday, hours as contract of employment Core hours 9.00am – 4.30pm
Friday core hours 9.00am – 3.00pm
Office opening hours 7.30am – 6.00pm
Weeks Per Annum: 52 Weeks
Salary: Highly competitive, depending on experience!
Place of Work: Cheadle Office with site visits required to meet the needs of the Business.
Reporting to: Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer. However, this may change due to business expansion and associated restructuring.
Holidays: 20 days per annum, plus Christmas Closure 23rd December – 2nd January.
Undertake the design of Electrical Services either from a site survey or scheme report, drafting drawings, undertaking calculations using Hevacomp Software, Dialux or Relux and production of specifications.
Undertake electrical design of all Band One systems.
Undertake pre-acquisition and condition electrical surveys.
Undertake budget cost assessments.
Production of tender reports.
Liaise with in house mechanical, Revit/Cad and Secretarial staff to enable the
production process and meet the needs of the business.
Operate ACad System. Undertake training in relation to REVIT MEP.
Tutor and mentor junior staff.
Carry out project management duties including when acting as a lead
consultant chairing meetings and the production of minutes.
Undertake defects inspections and issue appropriate certification.
Write and produce operation and maintenance manuals.
Accept and undertake further training in line with personal development.
plans and to meet the needs of the business.
When the need arises carry out general office duties including filing,
photocopying, document binding, postal duties and all necessary further
office duties to enable the smooth operation of the business.
Attend to clients and other related professionals when attending meetings at ECS Consultants offices.
Answering telephone calls and taking messages when secretarial and
junior staff not available.
Operating all computer systems and associated software.
Operating Microsoft outlook e-mail system.
Undertake all duties in accordance with organisational procedures and
ISO9001 quality management system.
Represent the organisation in an appropriate and professional manner at
Undertake work on occasion to meet project requirements.
- Minimum HNC Building Services Engineering
- Must hold a full UK Driving Licence and have a fully insured car available for use at all times.
- Minimum Five Years in a Building Services Consultancy environment at the same level as this post.
