An exciting position has recently become available at an independent SEMH/SEBD, for teaching children experiencing behavioural, emotional or learning barriers, and social communication difficulties. The school is located in Redbridge East London and caters for children from the ages of 6 to16 years. This SEMH Teacher post requires an aspirational and self-aSEMHssured individual who is ready and excited to start making an impact in a new environment.
We are looking for a capable SEMH Teacher who has been recognised as a 'Good' or better teacher in recent observations and experience of working with SEN and EBD pupils. You will have the ability to show a great deal of understanding for SEN pupils with learning needs and show your ability to work in a proactive mode. The school wants to see an SEMH Teacher who will have a positive and flexible mind-set that enables them to react purposefully to any new changes.
- Successful class teaching experience.
- Experience of working with children with SEMH, Behaviour difficulties and those who are disengaged in education
- An excellent knowledge of specialist curriculum area and how it may be effectively taught.
- QTS would be preferable
About the Role
As a SEMH Teacher your role will involve you teaching a class of 5- 6 children. The ability to motivate pupils towards positive learning is essential. You will work with a Teaching Assistant.
The Teacher will be working with both Looked after Children and day pupils from the surrounding area. As a school, we cater for children and young people who have struggled in mainstream education environments and whose needs have subsequently been unmet. We need a teacher that will become part of a team that specialises in delivering a curriculum designed to meet individual needs and give students the best possible educational outcomes.
