This top 20 UK law firm is widely regarded to have one of the leading shipping practices in the City. They currently have a requirement at the senior level (minimum 4 pqe) for a commercial litigator to focus on shipping and maritime disputes. The successful candidate does not necessarily need to have had a huge amount of experience in the shipping sector, what is more important is a solid grounding in dispute resolution and the drive and hunger to pick up shipping disputes work.

This team acts for shipowners as well as their insurers on matters including cargo loss and damage, bills of lading, bunker disputes, casualties, arbitration and mediation, etc. The team is also well versed in offshore construction and LNG work as well as commodities. The role will offer the chance to specialise in this exciting area of law as part of a market leading team in which you will enjoy excellent exposure to clients and the opportunity to build your own practice. There is excellent scope for upward progression for the right candidate.

This firm has a huge international presence and has a strong global network of clients. Despite this, the London office maintains a relaxed working environment and a low chargeable hours target. This team in particular is very close knit and collegiate in terms of culture.
