pladis (formerly United Biscuits of McVitie's and Jaffa Cakes fame) are currently hiring for a SAP Basis Support Analyst for our Business Service Centre in Liverpool. You will need to have some knowledge of SAP Basis to join our award winning technical team in our centre of excellence. You'll be supported and encouraged to develop your career with us as well as the opportunity to develop your technical skills.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is keen to learn and develop their skills in a software bias role, within our Information Systems Function. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrable passion for technology and have a background in either in a Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering discipline, or, already have prior experience working in a SAP environment.

Key Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be fully involved in the end to end administration of the SAP environment, supporting various SAP installations across SAP R/3, ECC and HANA.

Our fully qualified SAP Basis Analysts would be expected to perform the following activities:

Should be able to handle the administration of all SAP installations including the installation, configuration and maintenance. The installations will include SAP R/3, ECC, HANA, NetWeaver, NetWeaver components, Solution Manager etc.Be able to do user administration like creating and deleting users, assigning and resetting passwords, locking and unlocking users.Perform client administration such as client copy, remote client copy, create and deleting clients.Create and restore data backupsInstall Patches, Kernels and Support NotesConfigure Solution ManagerDatabase and OS knowledgeCreate printers, spool configuration and administrationManage / create RFCs and should be able to configure TMS (Transport Management System)Monitor and manage the servers, background jobs, performance of the systemCreate roles using different methods like transactions, direct objects, missing authorizations and restrictionsAnalyse and fix missing authorizationsInstall and configure sap licensingTroubleshoot security or authorization problems using SU53, ST01 and SUIMMonitor the status of work processes, application servers and system logs.Analyse the ABAP dumpsManage the database space allocationPerform system copiesTroubleshoot and rectify any type of problem related to operating systemsConfigure SAP GUI at client computersRectify minor networking problemsUnderstanding of IP address configurations and pinging conceptTroubleshoot any client or server problemsKnowledge of SAP Single sign onAvailable for 24 hour call outEssential Experience, Skills and QualificationsExperience in Information Systems and or Software skill (desirable)ITIL Foundation level / ITIL awareness (desirable)SAP Knowledge or Computer Science/Information Systems/Engineering Degree or equivalent (essential)At least 2 years’ experience supporting a SAP ECC6 environmentWhat we're looking forAs proud bakers and chocolatiers and custodians of iconic global brands, we don’t compromise on the quality of ingredients in our products or on the people we hire.
