This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic post-doctoral graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a 36-month collaborative project with the School of Mathematics at The University of Manchester and NAG Ltd., a leading provider of mathematical and statistical components and libraries.

The University of Manchester and NAG Ltd. are looking to recruit a Numerical Software Developer to undertake this 36-month project which has the overall aim of developing, embedding and exploiting leading-edge algorithms for numerical linear algebra to enable the development of NAG's software for emerging computer architectures. The role includes writing, testing and documenting code, as well as producing reports and giving presentations where needed.

You should have a PhD, or equivalent in mathematics, or a mathematically based subject,

involving writing algorithms, preferably in a numerical linear algebra setting, and carrying out

computational work. You should also have experience of software development in C and/or

Fortran and preferably some parallel programming experience.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry.

Based at the Manchester office of NAG, the successful candidate will work directly with supervisors from both the University and NAG and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
