Development Director

London (Greater)
10 Mar 2018
19 Apr 2018
Contract Type
Full Time

This is a Development Director role packed with opportunity. JUSTICE have been fundraising for around three years, and income has steadily grown over that time to around £850k per annum. Big strides have been made with some excellent relationships built, but there is still so much more to be done as we look to deepen these existing relationships and identify new ones. We are about to embark on a capital appeal and are excited about the opportunity this will bring to start conversations with a different type of donor with a different type of ask.

As a membership body, predominantly serving the legal profession we have excellent links to a variety of stakeholders. We are an all-party law reform organisation bridging Westminster and Whitehall. As a result we benefit from great access to a niche group of people who share our vision and often have the capacity and inclination to help us. Our new Development Director will take the lead in managing these relationships and setting and delivering our strategy for income generation in 2018/19 and beyond.

We are looking for an outstanding relationship manager, someone who has managed a Major Donor programme and a volunteer board previously. You will be a capable manager (this role manages three) and if you have some experience of running a capital appeal that would be a huge help. You don’t need to be a legal expert but you do need to comfortable dealing with the wide-ranging legal profession (i.e. barristers, solicitors, legal executives, academic lawyers, law students and interested non-lawyers).

Who we are: JUSTICE is a small law reform and human rights charity focussed on strengthening the justice system, and the rights of individuals within it. We advance access to human rights and the rule of Law. Our vision is of fair, accessible and efficient legal processes, in which the individual's rights are protected, and which reflect the country's international reputation for upholding and promoting the rule of law.

We are an agile and flexible organisation. We promote and support flexible working and as such are willing to consider different flexible working arrangements
