Lecturer in Make-Up, Special Effects and Hair Design
UCB are seeking to appoint a talented lecturer with strong industry experience and a considered commitment to teaching and learning, to support the delivery of our specialist higher education hair and media make-up programme within the School of Sport and Creative Services.
The successful candidate will have the ability to offer teaching in a range of subjects, which may include: fashion make-up; hair cutting and styling; period hair and make-up; wig making; wig setting, dressing and styling; special effects make-up for Film and TV; prosthetics; model making; pathology; anatomy and physiology; historical and cultural developments in hair and make-up; freelance industry sector.
In addition to the above, you will be a confident communicator with the ability to inspire and motivate a range of students. Successful candidates are expected to work towards a recognised teaching qualification (if not already held).
This vacancy is full-time involving some evening and occasional weekend work. However, we would also be willing to consider fractional (part-time) appointments for the right candidate(s). Please indicate clearly within your application if you wish to be considered for part-time work only.
