What this job is really like:

Finance Business Partner to a division of RSA UK. You will be an integral member on a variety of initiatives /projects providing financial insight and support, robustly challenging decision making and driving continuous improvement in performance. A key area of responsibility will be the robust Deal Management and Business Case development and, but the role is much wider than this and you will be expected to operate as a genuine partner to the business. You will add value through; your use of your financial and strategic expertise, your ability to contribute to business performance and your ability to align the requirements of the Finance function with the business needs.


The Jobholder is typically responsible for:

Partnering with the business, taking the Finance lead on:

- Identifying / Evaluating business opportunities, risks and issues and assessing their financial implications

- Development of financially sound CBAs

- Development of financially sound business strategy and annual operating plans

- Monitoring and management of business and financial performance

- Development of other business cases and/or remedial action plans to maximize performance where appropriate

- Ensuring adherence to relevant financial policies and procedures eg applications for capital expenditure/investment

- Driving change and quick win activity across the business to ensure benefits are delivered and drive value

* Developing and maintaining a network of relationships within their business team and wider UK business to keep themselves informed and up-to-date on business developments and enable immediate engagement when action or support is needed

* Leading and/or contributing to a wide variety of projects and initiatives as required

The Individual

* A Qualified Accounting professional or may have equivalent experience
* Proven ability to work with the business to understand and interpret the practical business implications of financial data
* Proven ability to anticipate business performance issues/opportunities and recommend appropriate action

Business partnering experience is essential and it would be advantageous to have either Insurance experience or Financial Services.
