FPSG's IT Recruitment Team in Edinburgh have a locally based professional services Client who are keen to hire a talented Financial IT Systems Manager. Your role will see you taking responsibility for managing the implementation, support and development of financial systems.

From your career to date, you will be familiar with the responsibilities in this level of role, where you will carry out the following duties:

  • Make recommendations on operational processes, systems enhancements and new systems, whilst managing and controlling financial system improvements and implementation of new systems.

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and agree priorities with them.

  • Seek regular feedback from users and make sure financial systems are being used properly and effectively.

  • Agree delivery dates and ensure team deliver on time and follow up with the preparation of monthly activity reports.

  • Ensure systems are regularly patched, tested and ensure in all cases that changes are documented and approved.

  • Maintain overall responsibility for ensuring support teams are trained to deal with common financial support requests and issues.

Your role will see you manage relationships with financial systems third party vendors and the finance team, so you can hold regular service reviews and attend relevant vendor conferences. Any previous working knowledge of financial systems such as Envision, Elite 3E, IntApp and Banking systems would be advantageous.

You will be managing the current Financial IT Systems Support Team, so good examples of being accountable for others previously and developing their knowledge and workloads are vital. There is already a very good team spirit, so it is a case of keeping that going and leading by great example. Full details of the Team's remit will be made available to shortlisted candidates.

As a suitable candidate for the Financial IT Systems Manager post your technical experience will likely include:

  • Previous experience in a support environment.

  • Experience of managing and delivering projects

  • Experience of developing business intelligence reports.

  • Experience of implementing new processed.

  • Problem-solving abilities and experience with problem management and resolution.

  • Experience of drafting clear and comprehensive documentation to support technical implementation and administration processes.

  • Experience of IT industry change control processes.

Unquestionably, we will be looking for a Financial IT Systems Manager who can clearly communicate with their Team and appreciate the terminology used by Finance Teams.
