Nursery Manager

We currently require a Manager to lead and motivate a team of fully qualified practitioners and apprentice students. This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity for the right person who enjoys a challenging environment and can lead the nursery in it’s educational journey of excellence.

This position would ideally suit someone with previous experience in managing a private nursery or a lead role in a larger educational setting. Perhaps you are a teacher looking for change whilst still having the opportunity to drive education and grow young minds. We are looking for a dynamic individual who can embrace our current culture and ethos to develop a fantastic educational experience for our children and families whilst maintaining excellent standards.

Qualifications required

A Degree level of qualification is required in addition to a proven track record of supervising and motivating staff. SVQ level 4 in Children's Care, Learning and Development is a minimum requirement.

The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of Pre-Birth to Three, The Curriculum for Excellence, GIRFEC, Building the Ambition and all other relevant regulatory documents.

Minimum 3 years recent managerial position in similar childcare setting or teaching position

Post holder will be required to meet criteria to register as manager with SSSc

Excellent leadership qualities to grow and develop a confident staff team to deliver excellence

Excellent front of house skills to develop and nurture relationships with children and families

Process driven to comply with strict legislative guidelines

Key management

Management of all operational and strategic processes of nursery

Drive and encourage high standards across all aspects of nursery ensuring key processes and procedures are consistently adhered to.

To manage recruiting and inducting of suitably qualified and experienced staff

To develop and support staff team to achieve their professional development and carry out their duties with confidence.

To assure all aspects of health and safety and infection control are strictly adhered to throughout the nursery.

To motivate staff to ensure the provision of education is delivered to a high standard in line with company ethos.

To drive and manage nursery occupancy levels and associated budgets.
