Powwow are recruiting for a Senior Full-Stack Developer for our industry leading client based in Barton-Upon-Humber. As a Senior Full-Stack Developer you will be responsible for the building, design and innovation of all user-facing interactions on all the organisations web-based applications, using JavaScript with HTML5 Canvas. You will be an active member of the agile development team, with the primary focus being to further develop new and never-before-seen features as they are prioritised by the company. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills due to the need to be able to discuss technical features, designs and ideas with non-technical audiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Possess a thorough understanding of the company’s custom-built applications
  • Develop new user-facing features
  • Actively build reusable code for future use
  • Optimise application for maximum speed and scalability
  • Focus on adhering to and education the team on design patterns
  • Participating in planning, design and brainstorming workshops
  • Actively research new technology
  • Identify areas of weakness in existing architecture through code analysis and reviews
  • Mentor and develop Junior and Intermediate developers
  • Take responsibility for code repositories
  • Carry out team reviews and appraisals to a high standard
  • Understand complex requirements, writing technical tasks and ensuing development deliverables meet business needs
  • Have a thorough understanding of the complex requirements needed when undertaking large projects and distribute this between the team accordingly to strengths and abilities
  • Participate in architecture discussions for specific projects

Experience and skills required:

  • Thorough understanding of JavaScript including faults and ways to amend these as such
  • At least 5 years’ experience in creating and maintaining JavaScript based systems
  • Thorough knowledge of React, Node.js, AngularJS, AOP, HTML5 Canvas and the strengths and limitations of each application
  • Wide spread knowledge of general programming technologies and concepts
  • Proficient understanding of both front-end and back-end/server-side development and de-bugging, RESTful APIs, TDD, BDD, profiling and continuous integration pipeline tools
  • Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues and ways to resolve these effectively and efficiently
  • Familiarity with JavaScript modules such as Require.js and AMD beneficial
  • Strong understanding of code versioning tools incl. GIT
  • Experience in utilities and build tools including Bower, Karma, Jasmine, Grunt and NPM
  • Experience participating in full cycle development or coming from a DevOps background
  • Agile project methodology experience and its impact on interactive design
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Background in bespoke application development
  • Experience with both RDBMS and NoSQL solutions such as MySQL and ElasticSearch
  • Design patterns knowledge and the practical experience implementing them
