You'll support for the activities of the Joint European Torus (JET) Operations Department activities. Installation and maintenance of engineering systems forms a key part of the role supporting projects undertaken by the Group and across site. You may be involved in modification, development and installation projects as well as providing engineering solutions for improving the overall operation of the various projects on site.
In your new role you may have responsibility for writing of documentation, factory acceptance testing and on-site commissioning as well as liaising with members of sections and groups across the UKAEA business.
An ONC or equivalent City and Guilds qualification in an engineering discipline
Experience in a high-tech mechanical environment
Experience of vacuum systems and system requirements, would be desirable
Knowledge of modern manufacturing techniques
IET EngTech and working towards IEng
Experience of working under a Written Safe System of Work/Method Statements/Risk
Supervising and managing an industrial work force
