PGL is the UK's leading provider of residential activity holidays and study courses for young people.

We’re currently looking for a Catering Supervisor to join our Catering team at Windmill Hill, our outdoor activity centre in Hailsham, East Sussex.

You’ll oversee the day-to-day running of the busy dining room operation. As a Catering Supervisor you will report to the Catering Manager and be integral to the overall success of the centre’s catering operation.

The successful candidate will be one of two Team Leaders supervising and leading a team responsible for serving up to 600 covers per meal service in a busy, dynamic, time constrained environment. The successful candidate must be able to provide direction and motivation, have an eye for detail, deliver excellence in customer service and have a proven ability to undertake basic administration.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and supervising each meal service;
  • Embracing, delivering and promoting PGL’s current catering standards;
  • Ensuring excellent customer service at all times;
  • Food safety compliance;
  • Managing the dietary and allergen needs of our guests;
  • Staffing and resource planning, including training;
  • Fulfilling statutory cleaning schedules;
  • Facilitating pre-written table plans and meal times;
  • Liaising with the Guest Care department to ascertain group and individual needs;
  • Managing both the departments stock and resource;
  • Carrying out team briefings, observations and reviews;
  • Undertaking additional ‘Senior’ responsibilities as required.
  • Current food safety training and an existing knowledge of catering operations would be advantageous.

    We offer a competitive salary, working 42 hours across 5 days, free meals during work hours, with access to training and development opportunities and a free staff uniform. This role is offered as a Fixed Term Contract with an immediate start until November 2017.

    Successful applicants are required to undergo an enhanced DBS disclosure, which PGL will pay for.
