Victoria Walker is recruiting for an Engineering Apprentice to join a global chemical manufacturer at either of their sites based in Hertfordshire or in North London. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a world renowned manufacturer on an apprenticeship basis.

Are you looking to start and develop your career in Engineering? Our client now has an exciting opportunity for an Engineering Apprentice available! Working within their experienced and talented Maintenance Team and reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will support the maintenance team to safely maintain all site equipment, develop improvement and preventive measures in accordance to engineering standards. This role is a development role, and as such the completion of an advanced engineering apprenticeship (Level 3 BTEC and NVQ) is a significant component. Due to the nature of this role applicants must be non-smokers and have been free from nicotine products for at least 3 months. Further responsibilities of this Engineering Apprentice will be:
·To support the maintenance team in the skilled execution of planned, reactive & corrective mechanical maintenance activities.
·Working with the Maintenance Team Leaders to problem solve and effectively identify work priorities, to ensure that customers and stakeholders are supported in their daily operational needs.
·Identifying and carrying out plant modification work to help enhance both plant safety and efficiency.
·Cooperating with the reliability Engineer to continually drive the company's proactive engineering programme, participate in failure investigations, identify and report back reliability issues within the plant.
·Completing all apprentice assignments to the required level on time.

As an Engineering Apprentice, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
·Grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Maths and English
·Preferably grade C or above in GCSE (or equivalent) Science
·Previous experience in the chemical process industry would be advantages
·Demonstrate excellent numerical/maths skills and use of Microsoft Office
·Team player able to support other disciplines if required
·Strong communications and interpersonal skills
·Health and Safety awareness
·Good attention to detail
·Be practically minded and enjoy working with your hands
