Our long established manufacturing customer have an opportunity in their Procurement team for a Buyer of finished goods who has experience of Stock Control.

As part of the team you will take responsibility for the Buying of designated product lines from both UK and overseas suppliers and additionally you will plan and monitor stock levels to ensure supply chain success.

There will be the additional responsibility for negotiating the purchase of worldwide transport and facilities and create supplier files, price lists and run relevant reports on supplier performance including KPIs.

Within stock control remit; you will forecast stock, delivery lead times; report on stock levels and liaise with relevant suppliers and internal stakeholders to update and record information.

To ensure competitor advantage, it is important that you have strong commercial awareness and are able to gather and understand market intelligence and trends.

Taking responsibility for researching new to market products and working quickly with these suppliers to gain advantage over competitors is required as is the ability to negotiate and run tenders.

Ideally you will have CIPS but this is NOT essential.
