Our client is one of the North Wests highly regarded and successful businesses, a multi-disciplined engineering / construction business with turnover of around £130m and part of a global £1bn t/o group. As Finance Manager your main remit will be Balance Sheet Management, Inter-company trading, compliance and reconciliations and Transactional Accounting across the UK Group and its associated companies
Your key responsibilities will include:

- Management of transactional processing across all UK group companies ensuring adherence to close deadlines/contractual obligations
- Staff management including identifying training needs, mentoring and the development of all team members
- Management of the Inter Company process
- Management of company Balance Sheets. Monitoring and reviewing Balance Sheets, ensuring categorisation and mapping accuracy
- Journal compliance reporting
- Monthly FX Reporting including an analysis of realised and unrealised FX gains
- Implementing and monitoring AP SOX Controls and ensuring SOX documentation is reviewed and updated periodically
- Ensuring Master Data verification process across ERP systems is adhered too
- Continuous Balance Sheet improvement including the provision of appropriate training to Balance Sheet reviewers and preparers
- Continuous improvement of business process and pro-active approach to improving non-compliance to drive effective and efficient practice
- Monthly Balance Sheet reporting to UK FD highlighting any areas requiring further review and explanation of trend changes
- Support the Senior Finance Manager with Quarterly Pension Trustee Reporting
- Cash management - co-ordinate transactional cash flow forecasts with the Treasury team
- Supporting ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required (eg: system development, JV set-up, tender support and internal/external audit processes)
- Developing a close working relationship with the Procurement team to work collaboratively to improve the use of PO's across all entities.

Applicants will be ACCA, ACA or CIMA Qualified with experience in a similar profile Finance Manager role, preferably for a large multinational business, with knowledge of UK and US GAAP. You will be pro-active, highly motivated and enthusiastic with an organised, efficient approach. In this highly visible role you will forge strong relationships with Project Teams (Budget holders including Operation and commercial staff), Senior Management (Regional MD & Client Service Directors), the UK Finance Director, other Finance Managers and the Senior Finance Manager so should have the personality & gravitas to business partner with a broad audience with credibility & influence.
