Senior Quality Engineer (Medical)

Salary £45k to £55k with Bonus

The company are a leading design consultancy firm who specialise in the Medical sector. The business has been established for over 30 years and has won accolades in the quality of their service. They are situated in a rural setting based in a converted barn and invest time in developing their workforce.

Job Purpose:

Due to continued expansion they are now in the process of creating new opportunities for Quality Engineers to support the growth of their quality department. Working with a portfolio of varied and exciting projects, this role will support the implementation of and adherence to their quality management systems.

Success in the role will require collaboration within multidisciplinary medical device development project teams, as well as collaboration with clients and Quality Assurance counterparts in client organisations.


Ensuring integration between their QMS / Client QMS / third party QMS and managing compliance to the agreed standards

Facilitating the pragmatic application of the QA process within projects. This includes: Reviewing and approving project documentation, Ensuring trace-ability of goods on client's projects, working closely with Project Administrators for the maintenance of project documentation register, and documentation and preparation of elements of DHF/Technical Files

Facilitating third party audits

Conducting internal audits

Willingness to travel occasionally including internationally.

There will also be opportunities to contribute to the development and continuous improvements of their QMS and be involved in internal projects relating to the implementation of new tools that impact the delivery of their client projects.


HND in quality or relevant degree in engineering or science

Experience working in the Medical Device market or alternatively have worked in a consultancy environment within all engineering markets

Experience working with ISO13485

Experience of project quality management

Experience of working in a project based organisation

Demonstrable experience in Quality Assurance
