REED Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading Engineering Company with a global client base.


Job Summary

Responsible for the development and issue of prices by use of estimation processes. Validation of estimation assumptions by application of operational and technical knowledge across all product forms (billet, forged bar, ingot and engineered products).

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Customer liaison as directed by the Commercial Director including technical/operational input as required
* Commercial ownership of specifically allocated product lines in the Aerospace, Oil and Gas and Nuclear sectors
* Validation, application and continual improvement of estimation processes for costing and quotation purposes including operational and technical considerations
* Identification and development of potential conversion work opportunities
* Ongoing Margin analysis and optimisation
* Supporting Long Term Agreement negotiation activities including all data gathering
* Terms and Conditions review and negotiation
* Issuing of standard price lists to sales teams
* Tracking raw material pricing and taking action accordingly
* Review of pricing and margin methodology in line with market conditions and Company set targets
* Commercial assessment of customer cost reduction activities and appropriate communication
* Financial resolution of customer complaints

Skills, Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

* Proficiency in a professional discipline such as metallurgy, supply chain, engineering or with either a Technical/ Sales/Estimator/ Engineering qualification (A-Level, HNC or above)
* Proven experience as a Product Manager, Product Engineer or similar
* Ability to commute daily to Sheffield and willingness to travel - Full Clean UK Driving Licence required

Demonstrable Experience of:

* Negotiation and Customer Relationship Management
* Costing, Estmation and Pricing within the metals sector of Aerospace or Oil and Gas Industries
* Strong understanding of contractual terms and conditions, particularly with regard to Long Term Agreements
* Delivering formal presentations to differing audiences.
