Leading UK automation consultancy seeks a skilled MES Automation Engineer able to support strategically evolving needs of the business.

You will be joining a unique business who work to the strengths of their employees to create roles beneficial for the business and for personal career objectives.

The MES Engineer will be joining a leading Technology Integrator deploying Industrial Control and Automation Solutions in the Food & Beverages, Chemicals, Pharmaceutical and Utilities sectors.

Their customers range from exciting small R&D product development companies to UK's leading blue chip companies and process contractors, and are very active in the Utilities, Water, Food, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Nuclear sectors.

The focus for the role is as follows:

? To support technically across the company portfolio of projects to overcome technical challenges, assist with new product implementation, provide specialist knowledge for specialist aspects of the projects, and provide Front End Engineering Design solutions

? To develop knowledge of products/technologies and transfer knowledge to others

? To support business development with technical demonstration/proposal of new product and technologies

? To undertake consultancy assignments

In addition to the core disciplines involved in control and automation, the following technologies are of specific interest:

? Historian and Reporting

? Batch solution (Wonderware / Rockwell)

? Industrial Networking (IT/OT/DMZ)

? Broad IT knowledge (OS/DB/Networking)

? Operational Intelligence and Manufacturing Analytics

? Wonderware System Platform and bespoke development

? Virtualisation (VMWare, HyperV)

? Server technologies

? Mobile Platform

We are looking for a high calibre self-starter, control and automation professional, capable of operating at high level within the company. This role requires an understanding of the project lifecycle from concept through to completion.


? Ideally Degree in a relevant IT or engineering subject and member of the relevant engineering bodies

? Solid control system design experience in a similar role.

? Niche skillset and the ability to grasp new product and technologies

This role will be office based with the occasional visit to site for meeting/investigation or to support the implementation of a niche project element. The role will also provide you with the ability to work from home.

You will be joining a business who invest in their employees working within a challenging but friendly environment. Located in the North West, this is their head office and commutable from within and around the following areas: Manchester, Warrington, Runcorn and Northwich.
