Job Details

£29,020 - £32,838 per annum pro rata for 18 hours a week based Camberley Adult Learning Centre, France Hill Drive, Camberley, Surrey, GU15 3QB.

An enhanced DBS ‘Disclosure and Barring Service’ check for regulated activity (formerly known as CRB) and the Children’s and Adults’ Barred List checks will be required for this role.

About the Role

Surrey Adult Learning aspires to become more outward facing in 2017 - 18 and increase the engagement in learning of individuals from all parts of the community who have low academic skills, are unemployed, vulnerable and/or underrepresented.

  • Do you have experience in ESOL accreditation levels E1 to L1?
  • Do you have experience of teaching and an appropriate professional qualification to teach ESOL?
  • Do you have an adult teaching certificate or are you working towards one?
  • Do you have experience of giving information, advice and guidance to adequately assess learners’ needs?
  • Are you able to identify, design or oversee learning activities that respond directly to learning needs?
  • Do you have excellent written and oral communication skills and can you use IT confidently?
  • Have you experience in managing a team?

You will work part time 18 hours a week, 52 weeks a year with the Outreach Team and will be based in Camberley, but the role will involve travel across the county.

The role will focus on the ESOL provision which currently runs at Camberley and Molesey. There will be travel between sites and there will also be a focus on ESOL in the community.

The ESOL programme has been established for the last 2 years and has had good growth. You will manage the tutors and set up meetings to mentor and support them, ensuring the quality of the provision against Ofsted standards.

Additional Information

Closing date is the 30 March 2018 and the interviews will be held in Camberley after Easter.
