Personal Lines Insurance Underwriting Manager
This leading Insurance group is recruiting for a Personal Lines Underwriting Manager.
This individual will work with the Senior Personal Lines Underwriting Manager to deliver UW projects and support the cross product underwriting strategy.
They will maximise the value of the Company by developing and maintaining existing relationships with third-party suppliers as well as to ensure the Underwriting department is compliant with core policies and regulatory controls
Responsible for inputting to underwriting product and pricing related projects through day to day gathering of information and analysis to support key decision making.
Work with the Senior Underwriting Manager in identifying key improvements within underwriting through liaising with other areas of the business/externally and gathering/interpreting of information.
Responsible for operational day to day management of relationships with Underwriting suppliers. Identify and recommend potential business opportunities and threats to Senior Underwriting Manager. Follow through agreed initiatives to delivery.
Support the Senior Underwriting manager in delivery of Underwriting initiatives working closely with IT and business.
Monitor Underwriting departments compliance with core policies and regulatory controls such as Product Oversight, Data Governance, Risk reporting and Internal Audit and report to Senior Underwriting Manager.
Collate and analyse performance data relating to associated products and make recommendations to further develop value to the business.
Utilise industry knowledge to become a recognised company expert in UK personal lines insurance market, answering queries from all areas of the company.
Knowledge of personal lines (Motor & Home) underwriting in UK insurance, an experience of other products is beneficial.
Extensive experience in a UK GI insurer or broker.
Knowledge of the direct telephone, online and aggregator distribution channels and their separate customer risk profiles
Knowledge of the regulatory and legal framework within which the personal lines market operates
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, at all levels up to Executive
CII qualifications preferable
PC literate, particularly word, excel and powerpoint
