Electrical Installation Instructor - Leeds - there are 5 roles full time permanent roles available.

Specific tasks

- To deliver classes of both a practical and theoretical nature
- To work as a member of a team to design specific courses, ensuring coverage of the syllabus and standardised delivery across the team
- To organise the implementation of the courses in line with company and awarding body guidelines
- To keep accurate records of attendance/ assessment/ achievement
- To write reports for students, employers and internal departments as appropriate
- To ensure final grades and outcomes for students are agreed and reported for the programs to meet company and awarding body timescales
- To support the Area Team Leader / administration team with information, guidance, course enrolment and feedback
- To assess student learning and monitor student progress across courses using the company tracking system
- To review individual student performance at agreed points in the program and complete `at risk` procedures
- To contribute to the company`s self-assessment process
- To ensure regular reporting systems are followed and updated in line with company timescales.
- To ensure implementation of assessment policy
- To liaise effectively with other departments
- To plan lessons in line with scheme of work and place on the company VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) e.g. Moodle
- To undertake agreed continuous professional development so as to be able to deliver the full portfolio of courses.
- To operate effectively as a member of the cross-company teams

Education and Experience
Holding a professional and/or academic qualifications in the relevant teaching discipline at level 3 or higher as appropriate, with the level being dependent upon the subject level to be taught along with essential teaching qualifications

Essential Trade Specific Qualifications / Experience

- Level 3 or higher in electrical installation / electrical engineering- e.g. City and Guilds 2360 or 2330, or 2356 or equivalent.
- Level 3 Certificate in the Requirements for Electrical Installations (17th Edition) - e.g. City and Guilds 2382 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Building Regulation requirements for electrical installations
- Electrical installation experience
- Inspection and testing experience
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development

Desirable Trade Specific Qualifications

- Initial Verification at level 3 - e.g. City and Guilds 2391-10 or 2394 or equivalent
- Periodic Inspection at level 3 - e.g. City and Guilds 2391-10 or 2395 or equivalent
- Design and verification - City and Guilds 2400 or 2391-20 or 2396 or equivalent
- Portable Appliance Testing - e.g. City and Guilds 2377 or equivalent
- Building Regulations - e.g. City and Guilds 2393 or equivalent

Essential Teaching Related Qualifications / Experience

- A teaching qualification equivalent to PTTLS or higher
- Previous teaching experience

Desirable Teaching Related Qualifications / Experience

- Assessor and/or verifier awards as appropriate
- Level 2 qualifications in English and Mathematics
- Involvement in curriculum design and/or development
- Experience of using Virtual Learning Environment (Blackboard or Moodle) to improve teaching

Other Essential Skills and Knowledge

- Excellent interpersonal, written & verbal communication skills
- Able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with individuals at all levels
- Able to develop accessible learning materials for their students
- Where no formal qualification exists, a level of competency in English and Mathematics equivalent to that which would be required to attain a Level 2 qualification
- Be IT literate with a working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
