The role will report directly to the clients Head of Procurement, with day-to-day management delegated to the Controller New Business

The Project procurement delivery team is yet to be finalised and it is envisioned that this role will play a very active role in the establishment of the most appropriately resourced and skilled team to support delivery of the project.

Key internal and external relations

* Internal: Stakeholders, Business Partners, and Customers.
* External: Main Contractor, Suppliers, Sub Contractors

Key Dimensions:

* Working with the Group Procurement Category Manager responsible for managing the supply contracts for core process technology (CPT) equipment ensuring adherence to contract obligations
* Full ownership of delivery of non-CPT/Non EPC delivered requirements of the project.
* Oversight of EPC procurement activities ensuring time and quality adherence

Purpose of the job

* To manage the end to end procurement processes from Project RFx’s, commercial evaluations, PO award and PO administration, supplier and contract management to final delivery and PO close out.
* Work in conjunction with Group Procurement Category Managers to ensure client requirements are completed in full alignment with agreed and/or emerging category strategies.
* Responsible for negotiating on behalf of client Projects to obtain advantageous commercial arrangement including progressing innovative contracting models that seek a partnership and collaborative approach
* Where item is currently sole-source work closely with Category Manager to identify and qualify alternatives / fallback options if necessary/appropriate
* Track and report key functional project metrics to mitigate supply risks, reduce expenses and improve delivery effectiveness
* As a member of a global procurement team, actively contribute to the development and execution of category plans and associated projects in order to drive maximum value from the supply chain and the establishment and sharing of best practice within the client.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate

* Minimum 10 years procurement experience
* Minimum 5 years’ experience of working on large scale construction projects in an ‘EPC’ environment.
* Experienced in establishing the most appropriate sourcing strategies, contracting methodologies and negotiation plans to mitigate supply risk and drive added value.
* Experience of maintaining a collaborative and constructive working environment within a department and across the organisation
* Detailed practical knowledge of contract tendering, contract structures and preparation
* An understanding of UK nuclear legislative and regulatory requirements
* Operating SAP in a capital project delivery environment.
* MRP experience an advantage
