We are seeking a highly experienced Internal Communications Officer on behalf of our prestigious Higher Education Client. Your main function will be to support the university’s Head of Internal Communication team and deliver internal communications content to staff and students that informs, builds community and provides clear messaging about the University’s shared values.

Main Duties:

•Work with the Head of Internal Communications to advise and support academic staff and professional services staff with the delivery of a variety of internal engagement activities, including student and staff events; internal promotions, campaigns and surveys; online and print materials for students and staff.
•Use skills to communicate key University messages internally, sometimes under tight deadlines.
•Proof read, sub-edit and check the factual accuracy of communications and key messages before they are published.
•Attend meetings for purposes of internally communicating key messages.
•Research and develop stories and materials to enhance the University's reputation and brand.
•Use aggregated web content to produce the weekly staff newsletter.
•Draft and distribute staff and all student emails.
•Draft and publish internal news stories online.
•Draft and publish social media photographs and messages.
•Draft and publish content about events on the company website
•Oversee and update the calendar on the staff intranet
•Write / organise filming to support generation of internal comms content for a variety of channels (e.g. staff and student intranet, staff and student newsletters, social media)
•Work with graphic designers to produce internal written publications including, but not limited to, magazines, posters and leaflets.
•Support the creation of presentations for delivery by senior management.


Essential Criteria:

•Has used Content Management Systems to upload digital content.
•Has worked in a communications department generating and delivering internal comms.
•Has excellent copy-writing and verbal communications skills.
•Familiarity with comms planning and campaigns.
•Ability to manage work effectively and deliver to deadlines.
•A positive and upbeat team player who can work effectively with colleagues to deliver outputs.
•Flexibility to work occasionally outside normal office hours.
•Excellent knowledge of social media.
•Excellent computer literacy.
