Electronics Engineer – Telecommunications

This is an immediate requirement for an Electronics Engineer or Digital Hardware Engineer with experience of taking new products across the full development lifecycle.

A great opportunity has arisen for an Electronics Engineer to work for a leading Electronics design company in the Stevenage area. This Electronics Engineer role will be working on a number of new programmes and products being developed for the UK telecoms market. In this rewarding role you will be developing some of the highest performing digital communication equipment available anywhere in the world.

This role would also suit an Experienced Digital Hardware Engineer with an interest in becoming a Team Leader. A number of the team are due to retire in the next few years this role can offer you fast progression if you choose it.

Responsibilities for this Electronics Engineer role

- Working as part of a hardware team designing complex digital communication processors, the key equipment within the telecoms systems.
- Design capture and performance analysis using state of the art techniques and toolsets.
- Performing design analysis, i.e. parts stress and worst case.
- Working closely with Application Specific Integrated Circuits (ASIC) / Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) designers and printed circuit board (PCB) layout engineers.
- Co-ordinating design analyses by company experts in areas such as thermal, mechanical, radiation and EMC.

Requirements for this Electronics Engineer role

- Experience of the complete hardware design cycle, from requirements capture, through schematic design and constraints capture.
- Commissioning of prototype designs at board and unit level.
- Design analyses and hands-on support of hardware assembly, integration, environmental qualification

Any experience in the following is desirable and NOT essential - training will be provided:
- Experience of the mentor graphics DxDesigner / CES flow.
- Knowledge of high speed digital and mixed signal circuit design.


Due to the nature of the work at this site, applicants must be capable of achieving SC level UK security clearance. Current clearance is not a requirement.
