Job Title: Vehicle Builders (Interiors) – Rolling Stock

Location: Milton Keynes

Duration: 1 year initial contract - project ending 2020!!

Our client is a well-known rolling stock company who has made a name themselves as a professional outfit. With over 100 years’ experience they are known for being the world’s leading manufacturer of rolling stock components and supplier of additional sub-systems for rail and commercial vehicles.

The Candidate:

Looking to break in to the rolling stock industry? Hoping for a long-term contract? Looks like you are in luck today! Our client is hiring for their air conditioning project and has several roles available for this long-term project. The ideal candidate will possess strong Interior Fitting skills and come from an Automotive, Ship Building or high-quality shop-fitting background working on cars, buses, coaches, aircraft, boats or bespoke interiors where you will have carried out removal and installation of interior panels and fittings to a very high standard.

The Role:

Working alongside the Electricians who will be running cables and installing power, you will be tasked with removing all ceiling panels, luggage racks, seats and paneling for the pipe fitters and electricians to come in and do their job before the more thoughtful task of replacing all the components that you have just removed. You will be expected to read technical drawings and return all panels which may involve trimming and adjusting to size, be it new or existing to the vehicle in a condition that will be fit for customer use.


To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate the quality of your previous interior work and hold a qualification that can back it up. You must be able to pass a medical that includes sight / hearing and a drug and alcohol test.

Rate of pay: £18 - £21 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10 hour shifts, 50 hours per week! Midweek / Weekend overtime at Manager’s discretion.
