Office based Technical Support role. Must have electro-mechanical hands on experience and knowledge of electrical circuits. Occasional customer site visits required. Up to 30k pa, 24 days holiday per year, well established company, relaxed, friendly team.

Our client, a friendly, well established company in Newbury, is looking for an experienced Technical Support Engineer to join them on a permanent basis. This is an office based role helping customers over the phone, but with occasional site visits to clients to help with installs or to resolve equipment issues - so you must have a driving licence. So, perhaps you're a field engineer who's tired of being on the road all the time, or you're someone who is used to working in an office and would enjoy the hand-ons element of the role. This is an office based job in Newbury, however you will be expected to assist engineers at customers sites to help resolve equipment issues or commercial installations on occasion - on average around 3 times per month.

As a Technical Support Engineer you will be:

Talking to customers on the phone and helping them with what information they require
Visiting customer sites to help resolve equipment issues
Assisting engineering team with commercial installations, which may ivolve occasional overnight stays
Creating technical documents and powerpoint presentations
Organising and keeping the technical diary up to date
Creating support documentation for engineers and customers

Key Skills Required as a Technical Support Engineer:

Good practical experience working with electro mechanical machinery with a good understanding of electrical circuits and the ability to understand electrical circuits
Good practical skills working with tools and mechanical components on machinery
Good computer skills, to have the ability to create technical documents, power-point presentations, organise and keep the technical library up to date, create supporting documentation for engineers, customers
Good communication skills on the phone, talking to customers and helping them with what information they require
Attention to detail and accuracy is critical so must be a perfectionist by nature
Will be expected to visit customer sites and help resolve equipment issues, will also be required to support engineering team on problematic issues wherever they may be
Will be expected to assist the engineering team on commercial installations, which would involve occasional overnight stays
Must be a team player
Must have a full driving licence
