Cheshire – Travel throughout the UK
£40-45,000 + car/allowance and benefits per annum.


My client are a leading, national drainage, plumbing, water and utilities contractor who are looking for an experienced SHEQ Manager to provide competent SHEQ advice to the business, and promote the safety culture of working towards zero-harm in all group work activities.

Purpose of the Role:

To provide competent SHEQ advice to the business, and promote the safety culture of working towards zero-harm in all company work activities.
To maintain and develop the company’s management systems in relation to health and safety, environmental and quality.
To provide strategic direction to the business in relation to safety and environmental developments and campaigns.
Support the company’s growth to ensure that as the business develops, it does so safely.

Key Functions

To provide competent advice (as required under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations) to the Directors
To support and advise the wider business network in matters relating to safety, environmental and quality.
To provide accurate and useful reports to the business to enable measures to be taken to promote accident and incident reduction.
To provide support in relation to commercial bids and tenders.
To develop and maintain the management systems within the business.
To support and advise (and where appropriate carry out) investigations into accidents and incidents, providing accurate and concise reports which form part of the company’s incident management suite.
To maintain certification status for the company (ISO/OHSAS/CHAS/Constructionline etc.)
Develop and deliver an audit and inspection plan both internally and throughout the franchise network.
Attend client SHEQ forums and conferences to develop new initiatives and develop client relations.
Devise and deliver a calendar of safety campaigns including ad-hoc safety alerts and bulletins.
To support the Behavioural Safety Change programme.
Provide accurate SHEQ data and management information to clients


NEBOSH Diploma or equivalent - Essential
NEBOSH General Certificate - Essential
NEBOSH Environmental Certificate
NEBOSH Fire Certificate
9001/14001/18001 Lead Auditor - Essential
TopSet™ Lead Investigator
New Roads and Streetworks (Supervisor) - Essential


Environmental Knowledge - Essential
Highly IT Literate - Essential
Previous Water/Drainage/Utilities Experience
People Management - Essential
Relationship Management - Essential
Experience of Safe Digging (HSG47) – Essential
Audit Experience (delivering and receiving) - Essential
