Lead Quality Engineer required!

Are you a competent quality engineer who has experience working within the Aerospace sector?

Would you be competent at leading a quality department consisting of quality engineers and quality inspectors within a precision engineering aerospace machine shop environment?

Working within first class aerospace manufacturing facilities, we require an Lead Quality Engineer to head up the quality department and drive quality forward in this aerospace machining environment.

With sustained growth and a secure order book, we can offer a structured permanent and secure position in this leading Aerospace and precision engineering business that have manufacturing facilities located across the UK

The basics:

Hours: Mon-Fri 8am-4pm – flexible/negotiable

Salary: £40,000

Location: Solihull

Background required: Previous experience working as a quality engineer within aerospace with the ability to lead other quality engineers and drive the department forwards.

The ideal Lead Quality Engineer will have as many of the following in order to strengthen application:

* Good mechanical engineering and technical skills
* An understanding of precision machined products.
* Experience with data collection and analysis
* Experienced in problem solving techniques (8D)
* Good knowledge of Statistical Process Capability (MSA and Gauge R&R)
* Be able to perform PFMEA on process and product
* Good knowledge of PPAP and its implementation
* Good communication skills
* Knowledge of special process requirements
* Knowledge of 6 Sigma process
* Competent/capable if leading a team of quality engineers/inspectors

Overview of duties/responsibilities:

1 Determine customer quality requirements
2 Perform customer purchase order reviews
3 To drive and maintain quality performance
4 To interface with and monitor suppliers
5 To Lead / support quality and cost improvements
6 Facilitate internal and external assessments (audit)
7 Complete RCCA activity on Internal & External Quality Audits
8 To liaise with customers/Suppliers on Quality/Technical matters
9 Investigate Problem solving to full resolution
10 To measure, analysis and monitor production capabilities
11 Plan for prevention of non-conformances
12 Support the business in all aspects of quality and conformance as required.
