Full Time
As a Probation Services Officer at the Thames Valley Community Rehabilitation Company (TV-CRC) you will have the opportunity to inspire positive change on a daily basis, supporting offenders during their probationary period while helping MTCnovo build towards its goal of becoming the UK's most trusted provider of justice and social care services.

About Us:

Over the last few years we have forged a strong identity in the rehabilitation industry with a view towards significantly reducing the level of reoffending in the UK. Our company aims are underpinned by our staff and by our overall approach to rehabilitation practices, which are centred on four core values: integrity, innovation, responsibility and excellence.

About the role:

In order to prepare you for this pivotal role, successful candidates will take part in a 6 month training programme. You will begin with 2 weeks initial classroom based training followed by a supportive scheme involving mentoring, case studies and reporting as you gain experience and build up your caseload.

You will work as part of a team tasked with the supervision and assessment of low to medium risk offenders, ensuring they are working towards the positive fulfilment of their sentence planning objectives. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate and timely records for each offender in your caseload, and will be required to report regularly on their development to numerous organisations working in partnership with the TV-CRC.

Though directly reporting to the Senior Probation Officer, you will also be expected to represent the TV-CRC in court when needed, providing relevant information and recommendations to National Probation Service court staff regarding the development of offenders within your caseload.

About you:

In order to succeed in this role it is essential that you have some prior experience working in partnership with others, be it in the public, voluntary or private sector, and that you also have a GCSE English grade A-C or equivalent.

However, regardless of whether or not you possess any formal qualifications in the criminal justice arena, this role is suitable for any candidate with the desire to make a tangible difference in people's lives. If you can act as an inspiring role model and communicate effectively with those offenders who require your support, our intensive training will do the rest.
