The Role

To maintain the Dreams IT Infrastructure in a secure and controlled manner. Provide 2nd/3rd line technical support in all areas of the business. Involvement in project work to enhance IT or business functionality.

Key Responsibilities:

-Manage the existing infrastructure hardware, including routers, servers both physical and virtual, arrays, email, and cloud technologies.
-Manage IT systems, performing maintenance and on-going housekeeping activities such as backups, system monitoring, software updates, server clean up tasks, AD housekeeping and security activities.
-Installation of any new hardware and technologies as they become available.
-Manage cloud technologies including Office 365, Mimecast, web portals and other file transfer mechanisms.
-Maintain the security of the Dreams systems and networks within company guidelines and any legal requirements such as PCI and Data protection.
-Adherence and promotion of the Dreams IT change control processes.
-Installation and support of all IT hardware and software as required.
-Perform 2nd and 3rd line IT support activities, logging all calls within the IT Service Desk system and covering the Service Desk when required.
-Involvement in projects which will entail managing projects, providing project plans, technical input/solutions and producing regular updates.
-Involvement in building and maintaining relationships between Dreams and its 3rd party suppliers.

The Person

Experience & Skills Required:

-Minimum of 2 years proven experience within an IT environment, ideally within a fast-paced retail/ multi-site/ FMCG space.
-Understanding IT Infrastructure concepts used in dispersed organisations, such as IP networking, AD, DNS, group policies and Office 365.
-Familiarity of IT hardware such as routers, physical and virtual server environments.
-Understanding the needs of secure IT environments, backup and patch processes and change control process.
-Ability to explain technical subjects in a manner suitable to the audience involved.
-Self-driven and motivated with the ability to use own initiative.
-Awareness of ITIL principles desirable, maintain best practice and the continuous improvement cycle.
-IT professional qualifications desirable (i.e. CCNA, Degree, Microsoft (MCSE))
-Ability and confidence to build relationships across all levels of the business.
-Excellent telephone manner and verbal and written communication skills.
-Excellent organisation, prioritisation and administration skills with a focus on attention to detail.
-Works well under pressure.
-Ability to work in a team as well as an individual.
-Good time management skills.
-Ability to demonstrate effective influencing skills.
