Kier Workplace Services provides specialist teams and technology solutions to help plan, manage and improve our clients’ workplaces. This provides our clients with access to solutions not readily available in their own organisations. It also enables our clients to focus on their core business, while Kier takes care of the rest.

Our key clients include the Royal Opera House, Royal Shakespeare Company, Legal and General, Kent County Council, Oldham Council, BAE and the London Borough of Southwark. We also work with a number of schools and academies, the Welsh Government and hold a major contract with the NHS in Yorkshire and Humber.

Procurement Manager

Kier Workplace Services (KWS) is looking to recruit a Procurement Manager, who will report to the Head of Procurement.

The successful post-holder will be responsible for managing the sourcing, negotiation and governance of goods and subcontract procurement within Kier Workplace Services, as well as having responsibility for the continuous development of our procurement policy and practice.

Key Responsibilities:

The role will encompass the following but not limited to:

* Ensuring that robust procurement processes are in place and optimised to meet the needs of the different lines of business
* Ensuring that procurement policies of both Kier Group, and where necessary, clients are adhered to
* Continuously evaluate and optimise processes for the specific business
* Lead, define and implement category strategies across a selected portfolio
* Negotiate with Service Providers to ensure that specific clauses in our client contracts are flowed down to ensure that contractual risks & KPI’s are not the sole responsibility of Kier
* Develop and own preferred service providers & strategic partnerships to deliver best value for KWS and our clients, ensuring that these service providers can be relied on to deliver high quality, value for money services
* Support audit requirements from both internal / external Kier audits
* Lead contract tenders to utilise economies of scale through leveraging cross client spend in common services
* Implement, maximise rebates from service providers / subcontractors, working with the central administration team to ensure that these are properly recorded and tracked
* Support the Bid and Mobilisation Teams on current and future contract wins
* Carry out any other duties as directed

Key Skills and Qualifications:

* Previous experience within a similar role and sector
* Full membership of CIPS, or working towards it
* Experience in managing change/overcoming resistance to change
* Experience in implementing cultural and operational change within an organisation
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Excellent analytical, numerical and planning skills
* Ability to be self-motivated and work well as part of a team
