Site Services / Facilities Engineer

My client are seeking a Site Services / Facilities Engineer to ensure that the Manufacturing Plant, Equipment and associated facilities are maintained in a safe operating manner, that the buildings and plant are maintained to the highest possible standards, in accordance with legislation and best practice.

Ensuring that the shop floor, office and associated facilities are maintained to the highest possible standards at all times, to minimise production down time.

Site Services / Facilities Engineer Key Responsibilities

• Work within the department on both planned and reactive maintenance.
• Maintenance repair and installation work involved with the operation of Plant (Including machine tools and controls), ensuring that plant is available and maintained to optimum performance levels at all times.
• Using the PPM Matrix to ensure all regular maintenance is carried out.
• Ensure regular mandatory checks including but not limited to:-

- Legionella
- Fixed Wire Testing
- Fire Alarms
- Access Equipment
- PPe Stock
- Emergency Lighting

• Maintain building management systems.
• Maintain stocks to enable the company to operate safely, effectively and efficiently with the minimum disruption.
• Installation of new plant and equipment.
• Continual assessment of plant, to ensure most effective performance, in both energy and operation.
• To undertake internal office furniture/equipment handling removals and relocation.

* Organise Contractors when specialised skills are required, or Site Service capacity is overloaded – Ensuring all relevant H+S considerations are addressed and documented.

• R&D for ongoing projects to ensure best practice within the industry.
• Continual assessment of plant, to ensure most effective performance, in both energy and operation.

Site Services / Facilities Engineer Skills Required

The job demands knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering, and a knowledge of all aspects of current Health and Safety legislation, Control of Legionnaires Disease, Electricity at Work Act.
• The ability to make decisions on behalf of the company on all preventative and remedial maintenance.
• Initiative, clarity of thought and the ability to resolve problems quickly and accurately.
• An ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
• Logical thinker / problem solver.
• Self-driven with willingness to learn and enthusiasm to be involved.
• Sociable and communicative with the ability to fit in to a fast team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Aptitude to progressive training.

Site Services / Facilities Engineer Qualifications

• A trade apprenticeship to minimum NVQ Level 3 5+ years practical experience in General Building Maintenance.
• Educated to GCSE Level standard or equivalent in maths, English and Science subjects.
• Proven ability in fault finding.
• Full clean driving licence.


Experience in Machine Tool and plant maintenance.

FLT and/or MEWP Licence.

Strong electrical skills/qualification.

Experience with hydraulics, Pneumatics and/or PLC Modifications in relation to Machine Tools.

Site Services / Facilities Engineer - Salary dependent on experience
