Jackson Hogg is delighted to be retained by their client in their search for an Electronics Engineer. Based near to Cambridge, our client creates, designs and manufactures high-quality and innovative products and equipment for pharmaceutical and biotechnology research. Their products provide solutions which save time and money, and simplify complex processes.

As part of their growth and expansion, our client is looking for a talented and ambitious Electronics Engineer to join their team. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in the full product life-cycle, from research and concept design through to production scale up and product completion. Key areas of focus will include prototyping, hardware design, embedded system design, firmware development and adhering to EMC/EMI and other regulatory requirements.

Ideally you will have:

* An excellent understanding of electronics fundamentals and the ability to apply this knowledge to real world problems
* Analog and digital circuit design experience
* Embedded system design knowledge
* PCB design and layout experience, with a good working knowledge of one of the commercial design packages (e.g. Altium, PADs, Orcad)
* Good prototyping, debugging and fault-finding skills
* An understanding of EMC/EMI fundamentals and design best practices
* A 1st Class or 2.1 BSc or BEng in Electronic Engineering or other relevant degree course
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferable experience will include:

* Motor control experience (e.g. stepper, BLDC)
* Sensor and transducer interfacing and integration experience
* FPGA design experience
* Knowledge of the ARM Cortex M3/4 series (e.g. STM32F2/F4)
