Our client an innovative bio fuel solutions provider who currently convert commercial waste product into advanced biofuels for heating buildings and a bio diesel for transportation.

They are currently seeking senior electrical controls engineer to work closely with the Engineering Director who has in depth experience with EC&I systems and supervisory skills for sub-contractors.

You will be responsible for the delivery of factory engineering projects and will be hands-on with the design of the electrical, control and instrumentation aspects of the projects.

You will have in-depth experience with EC&I systems and excellent management skills of both internal engineering staff and contractors. An excellent understanding of process automation technology, process control, electrical instrumentation systems, and health and safety regulations (including CDM) is required.

This is a hands-on role running projects from cradle to grave including installation, commissioning and sign off. You will identify suitable capital equipment, produce complete project specifications and electrical systems design within agreed budget and time scales.

Essential skills for this role;

• Degree or time served Apprenticeship in a relevant Engineering Discipline
• At least 10 years’ experience working in industry.
• Strong track record of running EC&I projects from cradle to grave, including design, specification, procurement, installation, commissioning and sign off.
• Experience with delivering Safety Instrumented Systems, design and specification of PLCs (including knowledge of software design lifecycles), Process Instrumentation specification, Earthing and lightning protection, Electrical Distribution Design, Design for explosive atmospheres, and Communication Systems Design (Ethernet and field bus communications).
• A history of delivering cost effective, well designed electrical, control and instrumentation projects to programme dates and to budget.
• Outstanding organisational skills, priority setting, and ability to manage multiple projects/workstreams at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of current Electrical Regulations, British Standards, Codes of Practices, and Health and Safety regulations (including CDM).
• Ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with all clients and partners.
