Development Lab Technician
Automotive Development Lab Technicians urgently required.
We have exciting and interesting 12 month+ contract opportunities working on the development of a new transmission system for the automotive industry.
The roles will be overseas based in the Benelux Regions and offer excellent rates of pay. Additionally, all travel costs (flights and transport) will be reimbursed. Accommodation costs are also covered and all workers will receive a 'living allowance' equal to approximately £50 per day whilst overseas (including non-work days).
You will work on a three-shift pattern with long weekend breaks back to the UK every 2 or 3 weeks (Flight covered)
The Development Lab Technician Role:
You will be expected to inspect, assemble and conduct a wide range of difficult and complex technical tests on high tech transmissions, clutches and mechatronic systems, using different developmental test benches. You will demonstrate characteristics that foster team progress and will take initiative on challenging assignments.
Development Lab Technician Requirements:
Understand transmission, powertrain and/or related systems.
Be able to work in fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
Review, understand, and convey technical information in an effective manner.
Mechanical, electrical, and electronic aptitude.
Knowledge of operation and function of all of the related test machines and data acquisition equipment.
Working knowledge of print reading and interpretation including both mechanical and electrical schematics.
Troubleshooting skills will be necessary to complete the required tasks.
Effective oral and written communications skills to communicate cross functionally.
Ability to effectively use spread sheets and other computer skills as required.
Associates degree preferred but not required.
Development Lab Technician Role:
Assist in the design and planning of test setups.
Perform tests according to specific test requests.
Analyse results, provide recommendations, and maintain accurate records.
Service engineering by building and maintaining test equipment.
Calibrate test equipment as necessary.
Support the laboratory development, production launch and maintenance of transmission components or systems for the automotive market.
Skilled use of engineering development lab tools and equipment in assembling and testing prototype hardware while demonstrating strong key competencies.
Prepare and submit documentation and reports as required.
Maintain equipment and orderliness of work environment.
Adhere to safety and compliance procedures.
