The key objectives of this role are as follows:
• Responsible for the management of the Transition Managers to ensure that Transitions and programmes are delivered to time, cost, quality and ensuring that they follow the governance processes in place
• Responsible for ensuring that the quality of service to the customer is monitored on a regular basis and improved on an on-going basis
• Assist the General Manager in ensuring that Transition resources are efficiently utilised so that financial targets for the Transition and Programme delivery team are met
• Management of the financial contract in place with the customer and how these impact the Transition and Programme delivery team so that financial targets are met or exceeded
• Work with the General Manager to ensure that there is a Resource Management Process in place for Transitions and Programmes that clearly defines current and future resource demand, thereby enabling recruitment decisions
• Assist in the identification of any training needs of the Transition and Programme Managers
• Recruitment of suitable Transition and Programme Managers where required to add to the team competencies
• Management of performance for Transition Managers and (where required) identification of suitable improvement measures where necessary
• Work with the other Transition Services Manager/s and General Manager holiday requirements and cover
• Point of escalation for Transition Managers
• Assist with induction and provide additional support to ensure integration of new members of the team until familiar with SCC’s processes and systems
• Responsible for delivery of Transitions and programmes in line with the structured approached dictated by PRINCE2 / MSP
• Be the operational gateway for all new business and the on-boarding of them into live services
• Responsible for ensuring that the presales teams are enabled to create Transition bid documentation and/or provide Transition engagement resources to support

Principal Accountabilities
Responsible for ensuring that Transitions and programmes are delivered to time, cost, quality and that they follow the agreed governance process.
• Ensure that Transition assurance and audit processes are in place and that any risks, issues and dependencies that are identified are escalated and managed
• Ensure that Transition managers follow best practice in delivering their Transitions/programmes
• Ensure that performance targets are set and managed. Where required identify improvement areas are clear and achievable
• Ensure that accurate utilisation reports are in place that enable budget targets to be monitored
• Ensure that customer satisfaction, post implementation review are run and monitored thereby enabling an improvement in the quality of service delivered to the customer
• Ensure that lessons learned are captured and communicated so that future Transitions learn from past
• Evaluate and redesign best practice offerings where appropriate
• Ensure that accurate business financial forecasting can be completed for new business revenue
• Ensure knowledge of the new business pipeline to allow for accurate commercial and billing reporting
• Manage the P+L of the Transition department to ensure the cost of the team remains profitable
• Be the senior stakeholder on all customer engagements and be representable on the governance boards.

Person Specification

• Programme / Transition Management / Business Analysis skills using recognised standards and methodologies such as PRINCE II, MSP or APM
Knowledge and Experience
• Proficient in Transition management and Business Analysis methods and techniques
• Delivering analysis for large Transitions and/or Transition management
• Line management of staff, including training, mentoring and performance management
• Experience of managing third party Suppliers/Vendors
• Experience in managing allocated budgets for the team
• Exposure to IT strategy and public sector Transitions
• Experience of different market sectors
• Experience in Bid management and delivery.

Technical / Business Skills / Ability
• Knowledge of divisional and client businesses
• Strong stake holder management
• Technical background and experience
• Commercial skills
