The successful candidate will be a member of a team of over 300 academic and business support staff. We are looking to recruit an ambitious and dynamic Head of Department, who will be responsible for the management and development of our multi-discipline Department for Construction and the Built Environment. You will be required to manage teaching, learning and assessment activities, develop and enhance the curriculum and ensure all provision delivered by the Department and associated College partners is delivered to the highest standard. In addition, you will have an agreed teaching responsibility. You will be required to line manage all departmental academic and curriculum support staff, plan and develop the curriculum in line with effective resourcing models, conduct teaching, learning and assessment observations and complete staff appraisals for direct line reports. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have a recent proven record of success in a similar role and relevant professional, technical and business experience, as well as holding: A management qualification; an advanced professional qualification in construction; a teaching qualification, Assessor/Verifier Awards, and; have successful proven experience of managing an Apprenticeship provision.
