Hudson are currently recruiting for a Head of IT and Information Security. Our fast growing client is based in Ayrshire and has recently moved to brand new premises and provides an excellent working environment. The Head of IT and Information Security is responsible for providing high quality, effective, specialist IT services and support for the business, including management of the IT Infrastructure, telecommunications and business systems across all the Company's sites. This includes the responsibility for developing and delivering the IT strategy which supports the overall business strategy but also ensuring we meet our information security and data protection requirements.

Job Requirements:

The Head of IT and Information Security is responsible and accountable for managing a critical part of the business which provides IT infrastructure, system development and support and client and internal reporting.

  • Leading the IT Department's Ops and Apps functions and developing the IT strategy
  • Manage the deployment, maintenance, and support of all IT systems including, telephony, PCs, servers and networks
  • Managing resources to ensure high levels of service to internal and external customers.
  • Oversee and manage the administration of the Company's IT infrastructure and systems.
  • Delivery of internal and client services SLA's
  • Ensuring the security of the IT systems, Company data and infrastructure.
  • Develop, maintain and test Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity plans.
  • Ensure the business meets its Information Security and Data Protection requirements including ISO 27001 and GDPR.
  • Management of resources to support IT related projects, ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Management of suppliers to achieve best value & quality for the Company and make recommendations for renewals and new contracts.

Skills Required:

  • Ability to manage the end to end IT function of an SME with extensive knowledge of Client applications based on Microsoft .Net framework and Microsoft SQL Server 2008 databases.
  • Configuring active directory, Cisco switches, routers, firewalls, VPN, wireless and VOIP telephony systems
  • Microsoft Exchange 2010 and Office 365 configuration
  • C# programming, ideally with web component experience
  • Managing an IT budget
  • Evidenced experience in configuration and change management disciplines
  • Vendor management and tendering processes
  • In depth understanding of TCP/IP including DHCP, DNS, VPN and routers
  • VPN Software Management and Vmware vSphere 5 experience a must
  • Experience of programming in languages such as Visual Basic and SQL
  • Professional qualification in IT (degree or equivalent)
  • A good understanding of client reporting tools and data management techniques
  • An in depth understanding id dialler applications fort inbound, outbound and blended applications - preferably Noble telephony systems
