Director of Music
The governors of this extremely successful, partially selective, mixed school invite applications for the post of Director of Music. We are seeking a highly motivated, committed musician who is passionate about instilling a love for music in the student body. The successful candidate will lead our thriving Music department in a school which places special emphasis on the subject; they will be mindful of encouraging all students whilst ensuring our very best musicians are also challenged through repertoire and opportunity.
You may be new to leading a department or may already hold a similar position in your current school yet be seeking a position which offers greater scope for personal development in a stimulating, intellectually challenging environment. Music is a very popular choice at GCSE and A level and there are many extra-curricular opportunities including performing at prestigious venues, tours abroad and competitions at national and international levels. The school has its own Concert Hall and Music block with three specialist classrooms, eight practice rooms and a recital studio.

In 2017, 74% of GCSE music results; 50% of A Level music results and 67% of A level music tech results were graded A*-A. 97% of all students secured five or more A*-Cs at GCSE, and 82% of A level entries were graded A*- B.
The school is situated on an attractive 35-acre site in the Green Belt, has excellent facilities and is committed to an extensive programme of staff development. Central London is easily reached by rail from Potters Bar and the school is close to motorway links. The school has accommodation on site suitable for those individuals who may be relocating.
