Test Engineers with experience of automotive powertrain development and testing experience needed for long term contract opportunities.

We have exciting and interesting 12 month+ contract opportunities working on the development of a new transmission system for the automotive industry.

The roles will be based overseas in the Benelux Regions and offer excellent rates of pay. Additionally, all travel costs (flights and transport) will be reimbursed. Accommodation costs are also covered and all workers will receive a 'living allowance' equal to approximately £50 per day whilst overseas (including non-work days).

You will work on a three-shift pattern with long weekend breaks back to the UK every 2 or 3 weeks.

Test Engineer Requirements:

Understand transmission, powertrain and/or related systems.

Work with a high level of independent judgment and decision making.

Establish and update best practices and standardized testing procedures.

Troubleshooting experience in electronic controls, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

High level of technology experience with industrial controls, data acquisition equipment and systems, and heavy duty test equipment or equivalent experience with industrial systems.

Ability to generate clear and concise formal presentations and proposals.

High level of analytical ability; Statistical training highly desired.

High level of interpersonal skills.

Ability to set and meet goals for all deliverables.

Demonstrated technical ability.

Basic understanding of computer programming in order to write & modify test cycles and support data analysis efforts.

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline and at least 10 years of experience.

Highly developed oral and written communications skills.

Ability to effectively use spread sheets and other computer skills.

Read and understand engineering drawings.

Test Engineer Role:

You will work with other Engineers and Managers on defining test requirements, using standard procedures or developing measurement systems to determine requested information, as well as co-ordinating Technicians and Designers to assist in completing requested testing. You will be responsible for performing and developing validation and diagnostic tests for complete transmissions and mechatronic subsystems.

Responsible for all phases of the testing process and ensure successful test completion.

Analyse and review test results with team and leadership.

Support development of specialized tests and required new test equipment.

Support installation of new test equipment.

Contribute to department continuous improvement activities to increase testing efficiency, reduce cost, and drive high levels of quality.

Create, manage, and deliver multiple projects on-time and to budget.

Prepare and submit documentation including test reports, cost estimates, etc.
