Position: Sharepoint SME (Subject Matter Expert)

Location: Hounslow

Contract Length: 3 - 6 months

Daily rate: £400 - £500 per day

Our client is currently looking for a Sharepoint SME / Consultant to work with Microsoft SharePoint 2016 and SharePoint Online within Heathrow Airport. This is a combined leadership and technical role, sitting between IT and business users, to both understand and interpret IT and technical aspects of the system whilst supporting and training users and driving system usage.

Key focus areas include

  • Working with the Design Lead, shape the use of SharePoint as a key collaboration, document management and communications tool within Heathrow
  • Evaluate Business requirements to determine the best tool to do the job
  • Be an internal consultant for SharePoint by understanding what can be achieved through using SharePoint to solve business issues and helping to configure SharePoint to enable us to use this tool rather than buying 'off the shelf' systems;
  • Responsible for advising on the most effective and efficient use of the SharePoint system;
  • Focus on ethos of simple and structured but not over-engineered
  • Keep up to date with the evolution of the SharePoint and Office 365 tools (Teams, OneDrive, Yammer) system product in the marketplace;
  • Knowledge sharing across the Heathrow business as a whole
  • Managing and supporting a super user community

Principal Accountabilities

  • Act as internal consultant bridging the gap between the business and our technical SharePoint design lead
  • Prep of training materials and conducting training, user support; supporting inductions and awareness events
  • System configuration and reporting; new release testing
  • Liaise with suppliers
  • Manage the SharePoint super user community across the business, where required

Qualifications and Experience

SharePoint development experience, specifically

  • Core admin - basic SharePoint admin, setup new users and permissions, access requests
  • Config - create sites from templates, interpret access requests and action
  • Config advanced - creating solution sites, updating site templates, workflow creation
  • Tech Support - issue detection and solution, monitoring alerts

SharePoint training and qualifications

  • Basic SharePoint admin
  • SharePoint consulting experience
  • Business process development
  • JavaScript development (basic)
  • CSS (basic)
  • Quality: Appreciation of end-user experience
  • Quality: InfoSec appreciation
  • Quality: Full site accountability, longevity consideration

Framework and Boundaries

Working within IT, but with ability to reach across the business supporting colleagues in other teams.

Taking ownership of the system from a technical and functional level but ensuring that the business owner and system user champions take their ownership of the business process, policies and policing the data and quality of content (such as for document management)

Interfaces include; HAL IT CTO Team/Solution Architect, SharePoint Super User Champions, other Heathrow colleagues and Office 365 Super User Champions
