Graduate Trainee Accountant
Graduate Trainee Accountant role – post graduation
At Isosceles, we want to hear from recent graduates who are looking to train to professional accountancy status with CIMA and build a great future as an accountant.
We’re not a traditional accounting practice - we provide bespoke outsourced accounting, advisory, control and strategic financial support for a varied and expanding client base. While for some we’re their full Finance team, we also work with clients on merger, acquisition and divestiture execution, on managing and expanding their international presence, on funding growth or on achieving a high value sale.
We work with successful, growing businesses in a range of industries. While it might seem like a cliché to say we want to hear from ‘dynamic and ambitious graduates’, the truth is to be recognised as a player with our clients, you’ll need to match their energy, drive, intellect and focus.
You can find out more about what it’s like to be one of the Isosceles team on our website.
You’ll be a recent graduate who achieved a minimum 2.1 first degree. You’ll have to quickly establish yourself as an integral part of both the Isosceles and your clients’ teams, so you’ll thrive working in a collaborative environment. To help you develop relationships at all levels, you’ll be proactive by nature and your communication skills will be excellent. As an aspiring accountant, you’ll have strong organisation and numeracy skills, with a natural focus on accuracy and detail. You’ll have the determination needed to train to be a professional, the ambition to be a Finance Director and the self-awareness to find the right balance between your study, work and social lives.
About the role
Working with a team of professionals at various levels in their accounting career, you’ll learn the full range of core accounting skills such as management of ledgers; fixed asset registers; expenses; bank reconciliations; VAT; financial reporting across P&L, variances, cash flow analysis and balance sheet, as well as getting involved in audit. You’ll have exposure to and be responsible for client work from the very beginning so you’ll quickly build your own portfolio of clients and or/ areas of technical expertise. This will be your launch pad to professional growth and progression.
We’ll fund your studies and give you the time and support you need to succeed. But it’s more than that. If you work with us, you’ll not just qualify as an accountant, you’ll also learn to be a consultant.
Have a look around our website to get a better idea of what we do, who we are and what it’s like to work here.
What you need
- Already graduated with 2:1 degree or higher, ideally in a discipline with a numeracy base.
- 3 A Levels (or equivalent), with at least two at Grades A*-B.
- Strong GCSE grades, including Maths and English.
- Strong IT skills and a confident user of Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel.
- The right to work in the UK.
If you are still studying towards your degree, we’ll be recruiting again later in the year. Please don’t apply for this role as we’re looking for an early start date.
