FinTech Coordinator - 12 months FTC
The world is in the throes of a Tech Revolution and Clifford Chance, as a Global Law Firm, is playing a pivotal role. With an outstanding roster of financial institution clients FinTech is a vital area for Clifford Chance, presenting unprecedented opportunities for our clients and for us. Together we are grappling with the dual tensions of challengers who presently are largely unregulated and yet who have the potential to monopolise traditional financial services roles on an outsourced basis. Spotting trends and market developments, understanding their legal context, highlighting the challenges for our clients, whether in relation to Blockchain, Smart Contracts, AI and machine learning, are all part of the process which will continue to ensure that Clifford Chance is a leader in FinTech.
We have made an excellent start having already achieved a Chambers no 1 ranking for FinTech. We want to build on this recognition to provide an integrated FinTech offering across our network in 33 offices reflecting our FinTech thought leadership priorities. To this end we have an opportunity for someone who is a pro-active thinker and opinion former who will help us ensure the Firm stands out in a highly competitive global legal landscape. We are interested in hearing from you if you have experience of writing for organisations charged with forward thinking in Tech such as Think Tanks or consultancies. Or alternatively you may have some journalism experience within this field, or be from an academic background which you are keen to use as a springboard into commercial life. You will ideally have a post graduate qualification, preferably in a Tech related field of study, or if not have proof of your active engagement with Tech and ideally FinTech. Additionally you will be personable, and a good networker with strong administrative abilities.
You will be writing forward thinking opinion pieces on topical Tech issues in collaboration with members of our global FinTech groups and our Thought Leadership team. You will be also developing online resources, such as podcasts and other visual offerings and writing and publishing Thought Leadership pieces across our digital offerings. The remit will also to be attend or arrange, set the agenda for and host, gatherings of FinTech working groups, whether internally, across our network, or externally so as to develop relationships and generate an exchange of ideas to embed in our thought leadership offering . You will also add value by assisting with business development for FinTech initiatives including the preparation of marketing materials in collaboration with our Business Development and Comms teams. To make this role a success you will need to demonstrate commercial acumen and a collaborative and outgoing approach - in order to identify and pursue business opportunities within our client base for our Partners and lawyers and to connect our FinTech team so as to make the most of these opportunities. We are interested in you if you can demonstrate initiative and the ability to develop creative ideas, with the view of raising the profile of FinTech within our Firm and with our clients.
