Job Description:

As an Electronic Production Technician you will utilise your existing technical knowledge and professional experience to contribute to the electronic assembly, repair fault-finding & testing of sub-surface sensor based systems including measurement whilst drilling, survey and application specific borehole measurement and actuation systems. Acting under the guidance of the Production Manager your expertise in interpreting manufacturing documentation including circuit diagrams, drawings, bill of materials and production testing specifications will be key to your success in this role. You should be keen to take on fresh challenges, develop your technical and interpersonal skills as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting projects.


* Testing of products to in house test specifications
Assembly operations with PCB, electro-mechanical and wire looms
* Timely completion of works order in line with customer requirements
* Fault finding and debug of units as needed
* Conduct functional testing of completed units and sub-assemblies
* Involvement in the continuous improvement initiatives within the test area
* Maintaining works order system, electronic route card and test database
* Be fully aware of personal workload, prioritise and organise to ensure deadlines are achieved
* Ensure a high standard of professionalism is maintained and that customer care is foremost
* Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work area and department
* Ensure personal compliance with all HSE legislation and HSE Company policy
* Contribute to the development of systems and improvement in working practices and processes
* Be fully familiar and conversant with department and company policies, procedures and processes, ensuring all work and actions undertaken are in full compliance at all times
* Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
* Travel required as dictated by project needs

* HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* BSc in Electronic Engineering or equivalent
* Experience in a similar position

Skills, training or special knowledge;
* Able to read and understand manufacturing documentation
* Working knowledge of component soldering
* Working knowledge of Oscilloscope
* Able to understand electronic circuit diagrams and mechanical assembly drawings
* Working knowledge of component fault finding
* Advanced user in MS Excel
* Working knowledge of sensors, control and actuation systems
