As a successful teaching assistant you would need to be a recent graduate from a top university who has achieved a 2:1 or better in a core subject, previous experience working with children would be ideal. If you find yourself lacking in experience but are still passionate about pursuing a career in primary education and are eager to make you first steps, then this role could still be ideal for you.
Forming meaningful relationships with others and engaging with both pupils and other staff members are vital ingredients to make this role work. You should hold strong numeracy and literacy skills and be confident to support year 6 pupils in preparation for their SAT's approaching this summer.
The school itself is located close to excellent transport links and fantastic ties with the local community. The Head Teacher is very supportive of all staff and ensures that aims to foster an engaging but creative learning environment.
