We have an opportunity for a Mechanically biased graduate to join a growing team within our Portsmouth based downstream (Oil & Gas) operations client. You will be part of an Engineering team providing services on engineering projects across their sites in the UK.

Salary £20-25,000 + Benefits package

The role:

You will assist in the planning and management of works within the client's Capital Projects Team, on a programme of works across storage terminal sites. You will be responsible for ensuring that all tasks are executed on time and to budget or estimate and in full compliance with company standards and UK / European legislation.

You will be working within a team overseeing multi-disciplined contract engineers who conduct engineering activities as part of the larger works programme. There will be a need to build strong working relationships with all stakeholders and in particular HSSEQ and Site Operations as well as with external stakeholders, such as consultancies and sub contractors.

Work as part of an experienced team on the successful delivery of Engineering Projects.

Manage resources to fulfil the needs of the Capital Project Process / programme

Ensure that Capital Projects are completed in line with company standards and relevant and UK / European legislation, ATEX, PLSG, API, EEMUA etc., to allow future operation by company.

Ensure input is provided by company for Scope of Works produced by Capital Projects Consultants.

Liaise with other members of the Engineering Team on standards and codes.

Assist in the selection of suppliers in line with relevant legislation and Agency procedures.

Produce detailed programme of works/Gantt charts etc. to monitor progress.

Ensure compliance of COMAH, MoC, and CDM regulations in the delivery of Capital projects.

Experience/qualifications required

  • Your will have a relevant Mechanical Engineering degree

  • Preference given to individuals that have had internship experience within the Energy sector.

  • Strong organisations skills

  • Excellent MS Office skills

  • Good communicator and team player
