Purchasing Analyst

SSP have been delivering world class food and beverage experiences across the globe for more than 60 years. We operate a wide portfolio of owned and franchised food & beverage brands in travel and retail locations across 26 countries and employ over 26,000 people. Brands include M&S Simply Food, Starbucks, Burger King, Paul Hollywood and many more. We have 400 brands globally.

Main Purpose of Job

To assist and support the Buying team to deliver the team objectives and the company strategy, across all SSP brands and franchised brands. This includes working closely and integrating with the buying team to assist in the management of data and provide information required to ensure costs and their impact on the business are fully understood and reported.

The successful candidate for this role will need to work cross functionally with Marketing/NPD, Finance and SSP Group Commercial team to ensure effective implementation and communication of activities and seamless transition of any new activitie

Main Duties

· Analyse inflation impacts on the business and report performance against budget
· Provide information required to support cost mitigation activities
· Build and maintain forecast models to track cost saving activities
· Report performance of cost saving activities against forecast/budget
· Input into the budgeting process for the Purchasing department
· Maintain the supplier price files and distribute to relevant parties in the business
· Collation of volume data and reporting a summary of data to relevant parties
· Keep up to date on commodity markets by using tools such as Mintec and communicate the relevant data to the purchasing team
· Use market date to build robust cost forecasts, and re forecast when necessary
· Support the commercial finance team in the tracking, updating and reporting of results from specialist projects

Skills/Knowledge Required


· Advanced Excel skills (vlookup, sumif, pivot tables, etc)
· Good use of Microsoft Office, Word, Access, PowerPoint
· Outstanding analytical skills & financially numerate
· Prioritises tasks and uses time in best possible way
· Pro-active approach
· Outstanding communication skills; both oral and written
· Ability to work to specific deadlines
· Confident in presenting data to multiple stakeholders from peers to board level directors
· Commercially astute
· Team worker who actively helps & supports others to achieve team & business goals
